Another day of local sighseeing - Marrowstone Island and Fort Flagler

There are so many places to see within a few miles from where we are which is the Elks Lodge about 5 miles from Port Townsend.  Sunday we move to the Escapee park in Chimacum
where we will be for the month of October.

Lot of deer everywhere

Tide Change Side by Side Pictures

Now this is the most interesting thing about the Northwest -
the drastic tide changes.
Four times a day.
I tried to take these pictures at the same spot
for low tide and high tide.

Our first trip to Port Townsend

Our favorite place to hang out - Port Townsend
About 10 miles from where we are staying
Port Townsend is known for their wooden boat building.
Another map of the Puget Sound waters

Beautiful wooden kayaks.  You can't buy them...
You have to take a week long class and make them yourself.

Tom - in his happy place - near boats!

Off in the distance you can barely see Mt. Baker

Sightseeing on Pugent Sound - visiting Bremington

A beautiful sunny and almost hot day in paradise!
We drove down to Bremerton and enjoyed
the beautiful views all along the coast!

The Hood Canal Bridge
It's a draw bridge and if a big ship is going
through - you may wait awhile to cross!

A view of Hood Canal

Low tide

That's Seattle across the bay

And Mt. Rainer

Here is a map of Puget Sound.
We went all the way down to Bremerton - across from Seattle
And we are staying at the top near Port Townsend

And we ended the day with a visit to our
 favorite port - Port Ludlow

Day 43 - The Ferry Ride to Port Townsend

A little intimating to say the least but much easier than we thought to take the motorhome over the channel to Port Townsend!!
